Career Internship

                                                                        Application  form needs to be submitted to Mrs. Santee for approval

This course meets the following State Career & Technical Standards:  Resources, Interpersonal Skills, and Information.

This course is designed to give students a practicum experience in the field of work in which they are interested.

  • Students will observe professionals in their field(s) of interest.
  • Community professionals agree to serve as a mentor for student.
  • This is a non-paid work/career experience.
  • Multi-shadowing opportunities are available – with teacher approval.  Students will not spend more than one semester at a location.
  • Applications are required for this course.
  • Students will keep a practicum log of their shadowing experiences, which will include written reflections and an evaluation of their experience.
  • Students will complete a “Mentor report”.
  • Students must set up their own placement and provide their own transportation to and from the mentorship.
  • Grades will be determined by completion of all necessary paperwork, mentor evaluation, attendance, and other assignments.
