• To develop skills in the use of charcoal, pencil, perspective, pen and ink, scratchboard, pastels, and
watercolor
• To produce sketches, portraits, figure and landscape drawings
• To study value and intensity scale, hue mixing, and style or period painting


Art II

Pottery

• To learn basic steps of hand-building and wheel projects

Stained Glass

Note: A $50 supply fee per semester is required (depending upon which type of class is taken). If a student wishes to create a window beyond the usual and customary, additional fees may be charged for extra glass and size.

• The student will learn the history of glass
• The student will learn glass cutting techniques
• The student will learn the materials and tools associated with stained glass

Multimedia I

• Multimedia is the process of planning, instructional design, and development. Multimedia I is the firstyear
multimedia course where students will create interactive computer applications to be delivered on
CD-ROM, Internet or other delivery mediums using the elements of text, graphics, animation, sound,
video, and digital imaging. These skills can prepare students for entry-level positions and other
occupational/educational goals.


Multimedia II

• Multimedia is the process of planning, instructional design, and development. Multimedia II is the second
year multimedia course where students will focus on developing advanced skills to create interactive
computer applications using the elements of text, 2-D and 3-D graphics, animation, sound, video, and
digital imaging. These skills can prepare students for entry-level positions and other
occupational/educational goals.

Multimedia III

Prerequisite: Passing grade in Multimedia II

Multimedia III is the third year multimedia course where students will focus on creating a group project incorporating
advanced skills using appropriate multimedia production techniques including the following:

• Principles and Elements of Visual Design
• Project Planning
• Copyright and fair use guidelines
• Teamwork
• Media Production

The group project should ideally be something significant that can be used by a school or class in the student’s
school district. Examples of projects include:
• Cross-curricular activities
• School orientation (freshmen)
• Study of a particular career
• Other viable topics

Web Graphics/Web Design

Prerequisite: Multimedia I
Credit: 1.0 Elective (Limit 4)

Technology.
This course meets the following State Fine and Performing Arts Standards: Creative Expression Through
Production, Aesthetic Perception, Historical and Cultural Context, and Applications to Life.

• This course is designed to introduce students to the latest in graphics design and editing techniques as
well as the skills necessary to design and publish custom web sites. Students in this course will add to and

Broadcast Video

Systems, and Technology.
This course meets the following State Fine and Performing Arts Standards: Creative Expression Through
Production, Aesthetic Perception, Historical and Cultural Context, and Applications to Life.
This course deals with the pre-production, production, and post-production of video broadcasting. The students will
produce a weekly show to be shown throughout Riverton High School.

• Students will learn basic studio terminology, communication, camera skills, and editing skills in effective
TV writing and production.
• Students will work on a student video crew with a common goal of producing a complete video segment
for broadcast.
• Students will develop successful techniques for conducting interviews on video.

Animation

Production, Aesthetic Perception, Historical and Cultural Context, and Applications to Life.

• This course introduces students to the principles of animation and 2D animation. Students will work with
concepts derived not only from computer graphics but also from design, film, and cinematography.
• Students will in the pre-production stage, write scripts and storyboards, design sets/backgrounds, draw
layouts, and sketch models.
• Students will model characters and sets and animate according to the boards and scripts.
• Students will assemble the scenes into the sequence of the story and add sound.

Digital Imaging

This course meets the following State Fine and Performing Arts Standards: Creative Expression through
Production, Aesthetic Perception, Historical and Cultural Context, and Applications to Life.
This course is designed to explore the unique capabilities of digital cameras and Photoshop to create and transform
digitized images. The course will teach methods of combining images and text, as well as pictorial composition and
layout.

• Students will become familiar with digital cameras
• Students will manipulate their own images, imported from external sources, using a variety of software and
transform their ideas into expressive visual art.

Drama I

• To explore the history and culture of theater
• To explore acting, directing/producing, and technical theater
• Students will create a final project incorporating state standards, designed to meet the criteria set by the
Wyoming State Drams Festival events and suitable to be displayed or performed to the public.

Drama II

Prerequisite: Drama I or teacher permission
Credit: .5 Elective

• Students will refine acting, directing/producing skills
• Students will read, view, analyze and discuss various forms of theater productions focusing on cultural
implications and acting and production quality
• Students will create a final project incorporating state standards, designed to meet the criteria set by the
Wyoming State Drams Festival events and suitable to be displayed or performed to the public.
